In preparation for these sessions, you will need to have "activated" your UVM blog. The things needed to be done are described below.
Step 1: Request your UVM blog.
(If you don't already have a UVM blog,) please go to the UVM blogging site (http://blog.uvm.edu/) and request a blog space (this takes at one or two business day, so doing it today is the best way to make sure you will be set).
The request form is the first item under the "Quick Links" category. You will use your UVM NetID (as for wireless network, uvm webmail, webct, etc) login ... not your SSN or anything like that.
Step 2: Login to your blog.
When your blog is available, you will be sent instructions on how to login. This is important because it contains the special password for your blog. Note that your blog password will not be the same as your UVM password (which is secret, and so the blog system can't copy it ...)
- go to http://blog.uvm.edu
Follow the second link on the right,
-> "Log in to your blog"
Here you will enter your NetID (which is what you use to login to webmail)
BUT you will use the special password sent to you from the blog enrollment form
Step 3. Create your first post.
Initially your blog will be "empty" ... so now you have to create a post for it.
- Click on the title of your blog
- Click on the new entry button
- Create a new entry:
- for the Title, enter something like "hello world" or "konnichiwa!"
- for the Entry Body, enter something like "konnichiwa, (your name) desu."
- close to the bottom, change Post Status from "Unpublish" to "Published"
- click on Save.
- Yatta !
Step 4. Viewing your blog.
Once you have an entry in your blog, you can view it at
http://your_netid.blog.uvm.edu/

日本語２２１の中間試験は、３０分のインタビューです。サインアップシートをクラスでまわします。
トピックは、今までやった五つのトピック、夏休みについて、今学期やってみたいこと、こんなものがあったらいいな、どんな人、日本語のおもしろさ、 です。よく練習してください。
JAPN221 Mid-term will be a half hour interview.
You will be asked to talk about the topics based on the five assignments: summer vacation, things you want to do this semester, describe people, Japanese is fun, describe things. The sign-up sheet will be circulated in class.
Practice hard.

日本語２２１の期末試験は、３０分のインタビューです。トピックは、今までやった四つのトピック、「日本について」「比較（ひかく）するー田舎（いなか）と都会（とかい）」擬音語（ぎおんご）擬態語（ぎたいご）「ストレス解消法（かいしょうほう）」 です。それから、三つぐらい私に質問してください。よく練習してください。

You will be asked to talk about the topics based on the four assignments: Japan and Japanese language, comparisons (countryside and city), onomatopoetic expressions, how to solve your stress. You are also expected to ask me about 3 questions. Practice hard.
